AGRIC STAFF OF ONMA TRAINED ON WEB BASED REPORT WRITING

The Department of Agric in the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly (ONMA) has been engaged in capacity building training workshop on Web Based Report Writing for staff.

The training was organized by the Department of Agric with support from Canada, for Mordinising Agriculture in Ghana (MAG).

The training focused on staff especially Agriculture Extension Agents and Units Heads on the use of web- portal to input field activities and report submission to the Regional and National portal.

The training is expected to reduce the manual stress of report writing that staff go through, cut down difficulties compiling reports for Ministry of Local Government and the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The training was on Friday, 26 march, 2022 at the conference hall of Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly (ONMA).

During the training the Resource Person, Mr. Moses Yao Guetaba, Greater Accra Regional Monitoring and evaluation officer from the Department of Agriculture told the staff that, this time the Ministry of Food and Agriculture is moving from manual to digital platforms, each individual will have a user account for his or her report.

According to Mr. Guetaba: “The ministry want the reports in the web portal so that they can have access to all your reports. Officers will check reports for all zones, the ministry want quality data from you so expect data to go through various levels before approval”.

There will also be deadlines for submission of data and reports, therefore you will be required to work with time on the web based portal. With this system Units Heads will be supervising your reports.

He stated that, with the web based portal officers cannot make changes, it is the District Director who can authorized changes , this time the ministry will not give room for any errors.

Staff were taken through Data Entry, Data Edit, Standard Report, Data Set Report, Report Rate Summary and more.
