Honourable Boye Laryea, the Chief Executive of the Okaikwei North Municipality has toured the construction site of the pedestrian footbridge at Lapaz.
The tour is to afford the MCE the opportunity to have first hand information about the challenges of the contractor on site.
This follows separate community engagements with the traders at Abeka and Lapaz on Tuesday.
Leading a team of Management, Staff of the Assembly and Police Personnel to the site Wednesday morning, Honourable Laryea reiterated his earlier call for the hawkers to give way for the speedy execution of the project.
He assured the traders and the commercial drivers that they will in the interim be relocated to a safer place while the project takes off.
The construction of the pedestrian footbridge is expected to end the era of pedestrian knockdowns by motorists on the George Walker Bush Highway also known as the N1 Highway.
The MCE was accompanied by other staff of the Assembly including, Assemblymen, the Presiding Member of the Assembly among others.
