FIVE PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR DEFACING PUBLIC MONUMENT

The Okaikwei Municipal Assembly task force arrested five people for defacing public monument.

The arrest was made on Friday February 8th, 2019 at Akweteman, a suburb of Achimota in Accra.

The five, Sir Lord Addo, Michael Ampah and Joseph Eshun were taken to the Tesano Police Station whilst Eric Hayford and Jonas Alipui were sent to the Achimota Police Station for their statements to be taken.

They were arraigned to appear in the  district court on Tuesday February 12th, 2019 or pay a spot fine of Ghc500.

The five culprit pleaded with the municipal’s prosecutor not to be taken to court but were ready to pay the spot fine.

After the payment, they were cautioned to desist from the act of defacing any public monument.
