The Municipal Chief Executive(MCE) for Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly is satisfied with the conduct of new voter registration process in the municipality by Electoral Commission (EC) officers and the general public. The MCE visited some registration centres in Okaikwei Central and Okaikwei North.
Hon. Boye said there are some centres which are known to encounter sedition when people come to register, so he decided to visit these hot spots together with the police. He was glad with the process after close interactions with EC officers in all the registration centres.
On Thursday, the MCE visited the following centres: Fadama registration centre, Nii Boitown registration centre, Akweteyman registration centre, Achimota registration centre and Christian Village registration centre.
Hon. Boye Laryea told the people registering that, they should observe the covid-19 protocols as they continue with the exercise especially physical distancing, hand washing, hand sanitizing and wearing of nose mask.
Interacting with EC officers at all centres they explained to the MCE that, the process had been peaceful since the beginning of the registration and that they have not encounted any disturbance.
The Municipal Chief Executive advised members of the community not to create any violence in the registration centres, rather, they should maintain peace at all the centres so that they will have a fruitful registration.
