The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North, Honourable Christian Tetteh Badger, has spearheaded a targeted revenue mobilization exercise aimed at recovering outstanding arrears from businesses and car dealers operating within the municipality<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The operation, conducted across major commercial hubs in\u00a0Apenkwa, Tesano, and Lapaz<\/strong>, targeted companies with long-standing defaults in the payment of\u00a0ground rent and Business Operating Permit (B.O.P) fees<\/strong>. The initiative is part of the Assembly\u2019s broader strategy to boost\u00a0Internally Generated Funds (IGF)<\/strong>\u00a0for critical developmental projects.<\/p>

Crackdown on Defaulters<\/strong><\/p>

During the exercise, the Assembly\u2019s task team visited several businesses, including:<\/p>

  • Star Oil (Lapaz)<\/strong><\/li>
  • Amiropa Motors<\/strong><\/li>
  • K&K Motors<\/strong><\/li>
  • DeGeorgia Motors & Spare Parts Limited<\/strong><\/li>
  • Sam Motors<\/strong><\/li>
  • Atabegro Motors<\/strong><\/li>
  • Alex’s Motors<\/strong><\/li>
  • Dependable Motors<\/strong><\/li>
  • Chatel Motors<\/strong><\/li>
  • Wasla Motors<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>

    Other companies inspected included\u00a0Dbanka Motors, Richard Nana Donkor Motors, El-Wahab Transport Limited, and Kofco Car Centre<\/strong>, among others.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    MCE Stresses Compliance, Not Harassment<\/strong><\/p>

    Addressing the media during the operation,\u00a0Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger<\/strong>\u00a0clarified that the exercise was not intended to intimidate businesses but to\u00a0ensure compliance with statutory obligations<\/strong>.<\/p>

    The MCE emphasized that the revenue collected would be channeled into\u00a0infrastructure development, sanitation improvements, and other essential services<\/strong>\u00a0to enhance living standards in Okaikwei North.<\/p>

    Hon. Badger reiterated the Assembly\u2019s commitment to\u00a0engaging businesses constructively<\/strong>\u00a0to promote\u00a0voluntary compliance<\/strong>\u00a0and foster a business-friendly environment.<\/p>
