The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North, Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger, has cautioned the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to shun examination malpractices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the country\u2019s progress rests on their commitment to hard work and integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGhana is in your hands. You are tomorrow\u2019s Ghana, and your nine years of education are being crowned today,\u201d he stated, urging candidates to approach the examinations with confidence and a sense of responsibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly MCE made the appeal when addressing candidates during a Monitoring Tour of Examination Centres, including Achimota and Anunmle Basic Schools in Accra.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hon. Badger cautioned strongly against examination malpractice, noting that cheating had become increasingly prevalent and must be decisively addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn this year\u2019s examination, we are tackling cheating. It is becoming too rampant and obvious that the people we are producing thrive on cheating,\u201d he said, admonishing candidates to avoid any form of malpractice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He further encouraged them to remain focused and self-reliant, warning that dishonesty undermines both personal growth and national development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou are the generation of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The moment we cheat in our examinations, we are cheating all the way into the work we are going to do,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The MCE also motivated the candidates, revealing that President John Dramani Mahama had assured support for successful students, including the payment of first-year University fees, as part of efforts to reward academic excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the beginning of your first step into the world. Do not joke with this examination. Make yourselves, your parents, and the nation proud,\u201d he urged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also speaking, the Deputy Human Resource Director at the Municipal Education Directorate, Charity Demebu, advised candidates to rely on their preparation and faith rather than dishonest means.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGo in with confidence. God is ahead of you. Please do not cheat, we are strictly against cheating in examinations,\u201d she said, encouraging students to carefully read questions and answer those they can handle well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North Constituency, Mrs. Theresa Lardi Awuni, who distributed Mathematical Sets to candidates, reinforced the call for excellence and integrity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She noted that the gesture was intended to motivate candidates while urging them to shun examination malpractice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of 2,876 candidates are sitting for this year\u2019s BECE in the Municipality, comprising 1,351 males and 1,525 females from 90 schools-28 public and 62 private.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials from the Assembly, including Mr. Salifu Seidu, the Deputy Director, Central Administration, Assistant Directors, Mr. Wilson Kojo Affram, Deputy Director for Monitoring and Supervision, accompanied the MCE on the tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
