The Culture and Tourism Unit of Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly (ONMA) has auditioned over 100 students to form culture dancing group in the municipality.
The head of Culture and Tourism Unit Ms. Georgina Akambasi, explained that the formation of the group is aim at protecting our cultural heritage and promoting our culture and tourism.
The audition of the formation of the cultural dance group was at the Apenkwa Cluster of Schools, where Presbyterian primary, Presbyterian JHS, and Shiayennoh primary and JHS took part in the exercise.
At Apenkwa cluster of schools more than 100 boys and girls took part in the auditioning and selection for the new dancing group. Best students were selected according to how perfect they were with the basic dancing moves and how flexible they can turn with beats.
The trainer for the new dancing group Mr. Prince Agyekum said, training will continue after today, after the selection we will be meeting the selected dancers and this will lead to some of them getting out till we have our final team.
Mr. Agyekum stated that, our goal is to get the best dancing group for the municipal. We must make sure we put out the best dance group from all the schools, today we have selected about 60 and as we move on some will get out till we have the best 20 or 25 dancers for the municipal.
The group is made up of learners from class four to form one from Apenkwa Cluster of Schools.
