The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region has donated assorted food items towards the celebration of the 2022 Homowo Festival.
The items worth hundreds of Cedis was donated to assist the three paramouncies within the Municipality.
Presenting the items to the Chiefs, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) , Honourable Boye Laryea said the gesture is a continuous attempt by the Assembly to assist in the celebration of the festival.
He said the Chiefs have been partners of the Assembly since its inception.
Honorable Laryea however urged the Chiefs to celebrate the festival in peace.
Speaking on behalf of the Chiefs present, Nii Ayibontey Adams II, Achimota Chief said they are grateful for the donation of the items in support of the festival.
He said the Chiefs have not been left out in the activities of Assembly, indicating that the donation shows how valuable they are to the Assembly.
He said as Chief’s, they are aware of the various flash points in their communities and assured that the celebration will be incident free.
Other Chiefs at the presentation were Nii Akwetey Brenya III the Akweteyman Chief and Nill Boye IV the Abeka Chief as well as their various entourages.
Also at the donation was the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Benjamin Ayikwei Armah, Honorable Abdullah Nii Odai, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, DSP Isaac Okin Occansey, the Tesano Divisional Police Commander and Heads Of Departments of the Assembly.
The distribution of the items was under the auspices of the Department of Culture And Tourism.
