Okaikwei North Assembly Support Ambulance Service Operations In Municipality

The Okaikwei North Municipal Chief Executive Honourable Boye Laryea has reiterated his commitment to supporting the life-saving efforts of the National Ambulance Service in the Municipality.

He stated that the work of the Service is crucial with a direct impact on the lives of the people in the communities.

Honourable Laryea made the observation during the handling over of tyres to the Okaikwei Central Ambulance Service.

The donation of the lorry tyres follows a request by the Ambulance Service for the Assembly to assist them in procuring the tyres.

However, handing over the tyres to the Ambulance Service Team, Honourable Laryea said tyres are an important part of the vehicle without which the Ambulance could not move at the desired speed to save lives.

The Okaikwei North MCE said the Assembly views the request as a priority hence the need to quickly provide it to help the Service perform its mandated duties

Receiving the tyres, Irene Lassey, the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) on behalf of the management of the National Ambulance Service thanked the Assembly for the gesture.

She promised to take good care of the tyres and pledged to use them for the intended purpose.

AEMT Lassey ceased the opportunity to remind the Management of the Assembly about their request for a bigger office space in order to be able to run a 24 hour Ambulance Service in the Municipality.

Other officers of the Assembly present at the donation were Mr. Francis Mensah, the Municipal Coordinating Director and other Heads of Department.

The delegation from the Ambulance Service were; SEMT Fatawu Kassim; SEMT Patience Nyasordzi; EMT Atta Taylor and EMT Daniella Peasah.
