The Okaikwei North Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Boye Laryea has toured some project sites in the Municipality.
The move is to have first hand information on the projects and to assess the progress of work.
The tour which coincided with a community engagement with residents of Achimota, will see the construction of over forty roads at various areas in the Municipality.
Honourable Laryea stated that some 200 km roads have been earmarked for construction in the Municipality to give meaning to the government’s year of roads agenda.
He stated that all is set for the contractor to go on site for the take-off of the project.
The Okaikwei North Municipal Chief Executive however pleaded with the workers to be engaged to desist from stealing materials meant for the project.
Revd. Stephen Azumdem, the Minister in charge of the Achimota Gethsemane Presbyterian Church, urged the residents to change their lifestyle to augment the efforts of the Assembly.
The roads to be constructed include Chantan Street, Kofi Dzadey Street, Asiedu Baah Street, Banana Street, Christian Home Street, Reuben Street, Flower Street, Spring Avenue and Kisseman Road.
Earlier at the community engagement, the head of the Municipal National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) Mawufemor Nuyator cautioned the gathering against acts that could spark domestic fires.
She said the residents must put off the gas cylinder after cooking and as well put off all electrical gadgets and appliances before leaving for work.
Present at the tour were Nii Ayibontey Adams II, Chief of Achimota, Head of Department for the Assembly, the Assembly member for Achimota, Hon. Gyebi Ababio among others.
