The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly have commissioned a new office complex for the Electoral Commission at Achimota in the municipality.
Commissioning it, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Boye Laryea said the coming into being of yet another successful project was a symbolic representation of the continuous goodwill of the assembly to give facelift to critical development infrastructure in the area.
He said the assembly would constantly pursue the course of making strides in development as that was the foremost agenda of its mandate.
” The new Okaikwei North Electoral Office would serve and address the needs of the commission in many ways. Our doors continue to be open to respond to other needs to help you operate effectively “, he said.
The building, he said, henceforth would provide the appropriate environment to tackle all electoral issues as expected within the confines of the law.
According to him, the assembly has obviously made giant strides in development terms casting one’s mind to the early days of its humble beginnings when he occupied a simple two- room office in sharp contrast to the present office.
The MCE said he had constantly drawn inspiration from President Akuffo-Addo who continues to implement ambitious development projects and programs for the good people of Ghana.
The Okaikwei North Municipal Electoral Officer……….. said the commissioning of the project had come at no be time since the unit has procured a lot of items such as Veronica buckets, tissues, soap, face masks, sanitizers among others to combat covid-19 adding that the issue of where to safely store these items have been promptly addressed.
On his part, the Greater Accra Regional Director of Electoral Commission Mr.Kwame Amoah said personnel from the office would in no doubt be motivated to work responsibly with the spacious place and congenial environment provided.
