The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly gave the platform to all Assembly Members in the municipality to elect Chairpersons for the Sub Committees.
The event took place in the conference hall of Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly at Tesano.
The election was held on the 18th of June 2020 at 10:00am. As Assembly members elected into office last year, they are supposed to elect chairpersons to head the Sub Committees in order for work to commence.
Present for the elections were the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Boye Laryea, Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Samuel Amoah, Presiding Member Hon. Abdullah Nii Odai, Mrs. Cynthia Aboni Director for Education Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly and some staff members of Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly.
The Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Boye Laryea said: “This day is very important for Assembly Members, because as part of their duties in the municipality they must elect members and chairmen or women to fill all positions to perform their work.”
Hon. Boye told them that he is very confident the two – day capacity building training organized for them in the municipality will give them more knowledge on how the assembly conducts its activities.
In all, fifteen Assembly Members participated in the elections via vote casting. Hon. Patrick Awuku was elected as the chairman for Welfare and Electoral Area sub committee,
Hon. Kobina Amoako emerged as the chairman for Social Services, for Development Planning Hon. Osman Mahmoud was elected as chairman, for Justice and Security Hon. Issah Abdullah was elected as Chairman, for Works Hon. Gyebi Ababio was elected.
