TheOkaikweiNorth MunicipalChiefExecutive(MCE), HonourableChristiaan Tetteh Badger, hasgiven thestrongestindication yetofplansto roll
outacashlessrevenuemobilization system in theAssembly.
Thishebelieveswould ensurethattheAssembly isableto mobilizeitsmuch-needed revenueforthedevelopmentoftheMunicipality.
Hon. Badgermadethisknown during acourtesy callon theGaMantse, King TackieTeiko Tsuru II, and theParamountChiefoftheGbese
TraditionalAreaHisRoyalMajesty Dr. NiiAyi-BonteII in Accrawherehereaffirmed hiscommitmentto transforming theMunicipality through
technology-driven revenuecollection and collaborativegovernancewith traditionalrulers.
“Itisabig day forusattheOkaikweiNorth MunicipalAssembly. Wearehereto officially introduceourselvesand seektheblessing oftheGa
Mantsebeforewebegin ourmajortaskundertheleadership ofHisExcellency John DramaniMahama,” theMCE stated.
Hedisclosed plansto form aMunicipalTraditionalCouncilto deepen collaboration between theAssembly and traditionalauthorities, noting that
theMinistry ofLocalGovernmentnow includesChieftaincy and ReligiousAffairs— adevelopmentthatcallsforcloserengagementwith chiefs.
Underhisleadership, Hon. Badgerpromised arobustadministration focused on education, sanitation, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
Herevealed thatconstruction oftheAssembly’snew administration blockwasnearing completion and emphasized theAssembly’sshiftto a
cashlessrevenuesystem to boostlocalrevenuefordevelopment.
TheMCE announced theconstruction ofanew secondary schoolto complementAchimotaSchool, acommunity library, and interventions
undertheGreaterAccraResilientIntegrated Development(GARID)projectto mitigateflooding in Abofu, Kisseman, Alogboshie, NiiBoiTown,
and otherflood-proneareas.
Paying glowing tributeto hispredecessor, Hon. BoyeLaryea, forinitiating thenew administration block, hepledged to continueongoing
programsincluding thedecongestion ofmajorstreets.
On security within themunicipality, Hon. Badgerissued astrong warning to security personnel, stating:“Wewillhireand fire. Ifyou abusethe
powergiven oractcontrary to ourtaskforce’sobjectives, wewillreplaceyou. Ourstrategy isdialogue, notforce. Through dialogue, betterideas
and reasoning emerge.”
King TackieTeiko Tsuru II urged theMCE to prioritizethefightagainstplasticpollution, agrowing environmentalconcern, and commended
PresidentMahamaforhisappointmentofHon. Badger.
Hepledged hiscontinuoussupportfortheMCE and encouraged regularcollaboration.
Forhispart, theGbeseMantse, HisRoyalMajesty Dr. NiiAyi-BonteII, called on chiefsin Abofu, Apenkwa, Akweteyman, and surrounding
communitiesto fully supportHon. Badger’sadministration asheembarkson hisdevelopmentagenda.
