The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Boye Laryea on Wednesday April 1 to Sunday April 5 2020 visited some Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), markets, clinics and hospitals within the Municipality to educate them on the covid-19 pandemic. There was 23 total number in attendance were made up of 11 males, representing 48% and 12 females representing 52% respectively.
In an interaction with them, the MCE cautioned them to adhere to all the laid down protocols announced by the president, which includes;
- Frequent washing of hands with soap under running water
- Use of hand sanitizers
- Wearing of nose masks at all times
- Social distancing
- Covering of mouths when coughing
- Avoiding crowded areas.
He admonished stationmasters to ensure passengers that board cars at their various stations to wear nose masks before allowing cars to move out of their stations.
Veronica buckets with stands, sanitizers, tissues and liquid soaps were distributed to the various markets, transport unions, clinics and hospitals.
