The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region once again brought governance to the doorsteps of the residents in the Municipality as it organized a two-day community engagement.
The event, organised in conjunction with the Development Planning Unit of the Assembly brought together key stakeholders in the Municipality.
The exercise was to solicit for the needs of the various communities within the Municipality.
Among the most pressing needs were the urgent need to rehabilitate poor road networks in the Municipality, poor sanitation and inadequate markets.
For his part, the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Boye Laryea, assured the various stakeholders that the Municipal Assembly will strive to provide their needs in order of priority with the limited funds of the Assembly to ensure development within the various communities.
Present at the ceremony were Women’s groups, health institutions, business and Trade Associations, Members of Parliament, traditional authorities, market groups, Youth groups and persons living with disabilities.
The others are private sector workers, Non-governmental organizations, utility companies, school heads, assembly members and community-based organizations.
