ONMA Staff Screened for Various Health Conditions

Staff of Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly have undergone health screening exercise for various health conditions.
The exercise organized on Tuesday April 2, 2024 under the auspices of the Human Resource Department is part of the Assembly’s efforts aimed at ensuring that the staff are in good health conditions.
Madam Vera Ampomah Owusu, the lead medical officer from the Wellness Clinic of Achimota Hospital stated that the emphasis of the exercise is on the prevention of non-communicable diseases.
She stated that staff sit for longer hours during work and are unable to visit the hospital to undertake routine medical checkups hence the need for the exercise.
Madam Ampomah Owusu stated that the exercise would fill in that gap for staff to know their health status.
Madam Sefia Salifu, Senoir Human Resource Officer touching on the motivation for the exercise noted that the health screening was also meant for the staff to know their health status.
She was optimistic that the exercise would achieve the expected results by improving and equipping the staff to have an idea on their health status.
Madam Sefia dropped the hint that plans are underway for breast screening exercise in October this year to raise awareness on breast cancer.
The Staff were screened on Body Mass Index (BMI); Blood Pressure (BP) and Glucose Test.
The staffs were also given free medical advice on ways to improve on their health conditions.
