A fifty-four (54) member unit Committee has been sworn in for the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly (ONMA). The Members are representives of all the eleven electoral areas of both Okaikwei North and Central Municipalities. Her Honour Susana Aduful administered the oath of secrecy, oath of office and oath of allegiance to the Republic of Ghana. The judge reminded the members of the confidence reposed in them by the electorates. She said the people of the committee have given the people their mandate to act on their behalf. Her Honour Aduful said that it is necessary for the members to be aware that the people put them in position to serve their interest. She explained that the work they have chosen to do is service. Mr. Benjamin Armah, the Municipal Coordinating Director of the Assembly noted that the Assembly is in the process of forming a Zonal Council adding that “once that is formed, you are going to start work. “ Mr. Salifu Seidu, the Deputy Director of the Assembly while congratulating the members said the swearing in ceremony is the beginning of their work. He said the ceremony will be followed by an orientation program to equip them for the task ahead. Present at the ceremony was the Municipality Chiefs Executive, Honourable Boye Laryea, Heads of Departments as well as the relatives of the members.
