ONMA’s Phase Two Decongestion Exercise Takes Off

The Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly, (ONMA) has embarked on the much anticipated second phase of decongestion exercise.

The over four-hour exercise is to allow free flow of vehicular traffic and pedestrians in the Municipality.

The exercise is also aimed at ending the era where due to the lawlessness in the Municipality, traders do brisk business on the portion of the road, thereby resulting in heavy vehicular traffic and pedestrian knockdowns.

The effort of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon.Boye Laryea to decongest the street of the Municipality off structures on walkways started at Tesano, Achimota overhead Lapaz and its environs.

The exercise was led and supervised by Hon Boye Laryea, in the company of the Presiding Member (PM) of the Assembly, Hon Abdullah Nii Odai, the Tesano District Police Commander Oduro Ananing, ONMA Information Service Department (ISD), personnel from the security services and the Assembly’s taskforce.

According to Hon Boye Laryea, the decongestion exercise as undertaken by the Assembly is an effort to restore its Municipality status.
