ONMA MCE Pays Courtesy Call on National Chief Imam.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly, Honourable Christian Tetteh Badger, has paid a courtesy call on the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Dr. Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, at his residence in Fadama.
The purpose of the visit was to formally introduce himself to the National Chief Imam and seek his blessings as he begins his tenure as MCE.
Honourable Badger expressed his appreciation to the Chief Imam for his longstanding role in promoting peaceful Christian-Muslim coexistence in the country and especially within the Municipality.
During the visit, the MCE gave assurances to the Chief Imam and the Muslim community that government will undertake key developmental projects in the Fadama area. These include the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Fadama AstroTurf park and the refurbishment of some Muslim community schools that have fallen into disrepair.
He further pledged to ensure the completion of all stalled developmental projects in the municipality, including the Assembly’s administrative block.
Additionally, Honourable Badger stated that roads that are currently untarred will be worked on, and non-functioning street lights will be fixed.
He emphasized his commitment to inclusive development, stating that these projects would be carried out in collaboration with both the NPP and NDC parliamentary candidates in the area.
As the Okaikwei North Municipality houses the residence of the National Chief Imam, the MCE underscored the significance of beginning his official duties by paying homage to the revered Islamic leader.
Speaking through an interpreter, the National Chief Imam welcomed the MCE and invited him to the annual Maulid Festival scheduled to take place on September 20, 2025, at the Fadama AstroTurf park.
He offered prayers for the President of the Republic, the MCE, and the success of the Assembly’s leadership.
Accompanying the MCE were Mr. Francis K. Mensah, the Municipal Coordinating Director; Hon. Daniel Dzadey, Presiding Member of the Assembly; Assembly and Unit Committee Members; Departmental and Unit Heads of the Assembly; and other prominent members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Okaikwei Central Constituency, including Mr. Brutus Kwame L.
