The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North, Honourable Christian Tetteh Badger, has concluded a day’s monitoring tour of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres within the municipality.
He used the occasion to advise candidates to eschew examination malpractices and approach the exams with integrity and confidence.
Hon. Tetteh Badger also an educationist, emphasized that the BECE presents a critical opportunity for students to secure a brighter future.
He reiterated the vision of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama for a malpractice-free examination process, stressing that maintaining quality in education should never be compromised for quantity.
Quoting Joshua 7:9 during his interactions with candidates on Wednesday 11th June, 2025, the MCE encouraged the students with the words: “Make yourselves proud; make your teachers proud; make Okaikwei North proud by achieving the best in the BECE results.”
He further urged: “Don’t be dismayed. Be courageous. Read the questions carefully, understand them, and apply wisdom. When you finish, read over your answers. Avoid any form of malpractice. God is with you; you will pass.”
He noted that the performance of the candidates will significantly impact the future quality of the municipality’s human resource base.
Also present during the tour was Mr. Francis K. Mensah, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), who encouraged the candidates to exhibit their best effort in the exams.
Mrs. Cynthia Aboni, the Municipal Director of Education, added a stern warning against exam misconduct, particularly the use of mobile phones during the examination.
A total of 2,913 candidates are participating in the 2025 BECE in Okaikwei North. This includes 1,395 males and 1,518 females.
Examination centres visited included: Achimota Basic II School; Achimota Compound B; Nii Okine Primary and JHS; St. Charles Lwanga Roman Catholic School; Tesano Cluster of Schools; Fadama Cluster of Schools; Mizpah International School and Apenkwa Presbyterian School.
The monitoring team also comprised the Deputy Director of Administration, the Presiding Member of the Assembly, and officers from the National Intelligence Bureau (NIB).
