Okaikwei North National Service Personnel Elect Executive

Twenty-Seven-year-old Prince Akuamoah Afari has been sworn in as President of the Okaikwei North Municipality National Service Personnel Association (NASPA). The University of Ghana Earth Science student takes over from Dennis Asare. This was after he emerged winner of the Association’s District Executive Elections organized on February 10, 2023. He polled 89 of valid votes cast to edge out his contender Emmanuel Adabogo who polled 42 votes. Laureata Nti Aboagye garned 82 votes to win the General Secretary position while Farouk Umar Ibrahim managed 53 votes. Sandra Teye won the Women Commissioner slot with 74 votes with Deborah Esenam Agbeli securing 59 of valid votes cast. Candidates for three other positions- Financial Secretary, Vice President and Organising Secretary went unopposed. The new executives are expected to run the affairs of the Association for the next one year. Mr. Emmanuel Ocloo, the District Director of the National Service Secretariat (NSS) in the Okaikwei North Municipality administered the Oath of Office and the Oath of Secrecy to the new executives. Mr. Afari in a remark promised to fulfill his promise in order to better the lives of the National Service Personnel in the Municipality. Mr. Asare the immediate past NASPA President urged the new executives to respect the District Director of the National Service Secretariat in the Municipality. He said they should seek clarification on matters they do not understand adding that the new Executives must learn how to serve. Mr. Ocloo urged the new executives to work with everyone including those who contested the elections and lost. Earlier, Mr. Ocloo called for peaceful polls and was optimistic the results of the elections will be accepted by all the candidates. He said his outfit is available to assist the National executives in whichever capacity
