SET MAINTAINANCE RULES FOR THE ASTRO TURF – SHEIKH ALHAJI AREMEYAW SHAIBU

Sheikh Alhaji Aremeyaw Shaibu spokes person for the National Chief Imam  Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu said Apenkwa Community should abide by the rules set for the construction of Astro Turf so that it will last longer for the community.

He spoke during the sod cutting ceremony at the Apenkwa Junior High School on 1st August, 2019.

The sod cutting will pave way for the construction of an Astro Turf for the people living in and around Apenkwa in the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly.

Special guests invited for the ceremony were National Chief Imam Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central  Patrick Yaw Boamah, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North Hon. Fuseini Issah, Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Boye Laryea, Municipal Coordinating Director Mr. Samuel Amoah, Hon. Abdullah Nii Odai Presiding Member, Dominic Edua GNPC Foundation and Rev. Samuel Agyei from Presby Church Apenkwa.

At the ceremony, Sheik Alhaji Aremeyaw Shaibu observed all protocol and expressed his gratitude to the National Chief Imam, the Member of Parliament and the Okaikwei Municipal Assembly for being part of this great ceremony .

According to Sheik Shaibu, this meeting is very crucial for our youth because phisical exercise keeps the human body strong. Therefore, sports is important for this country and the Apenkwa community.

The construction of this Astro Turf will add aesthetic value to the environment when it is complete. The whole place will change, one will not see rugged ground as they are witnessing now.

The Astro Turf is part of development in this country and it is important that this community has gotten it share of the national cake.

Sheik Alhaji Aremeyaw Shaibu stated that this project is moving the community forward and clearly it shows that Ghana is moving forward as well. He added that, this project is our property, when we distroy it, we shall all be blamed for it, however, when we take good care of it we shall all benefit from it.

He told the people that they should all follow the good arrangements for the construction of the Astro Turf. If we fail to do so then we will end up destroying this beautiful project, thus, we will never go forward. He advised that we comply to the rules and regulations set for the construction of the Astro Turf.

The Member  of Parliament for Okaikwei Central explained to the gathering that a proposal was sent to the Apenkwa Presby Church for the construction of Astro Turf. Another letter was written to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), then he personally went to see the National Chief Imam for support.

Honourable Boamah was very glad to see all those present for the construction of the project. He said when this Astro Turf is done,  “we will not only play football but we can have Church Conventions, Parties, Outdooring, we can do all important events here.” He pleaded with the people to exhibit a maintenance culture so that when authorities like GNPC come for inspection next year, the Astro Turf will be in good condition. He added that good management plan shall be put in place after the construction of the Astro Turf.

He stated that generations must see this Astro Turf, therefore, he pleaded with all to take good care of the Astro Turf so that talents can be developed within the community and the country as a whole.
