
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Okaikwei North, Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger, on Thursday September 24 2026 led a delegation from the Okaikwei North Municipal Assembly to welcome new entrants into public schools in the Municipality to mark this year’s “My First Day at School” programme.
The delegation, which visited a number of schools in the Municipality , included the Member of Parliament (MP) for Okaikwei North Constituency, Mrs. Theresa Lardi Awuni.
The initiative was aimed at welcoming and encouraging children entering formal education for the first time, while motivating them to take their education seriously.
Addressing the pupils, Mrs. Awuni encouraged them to listen attentively to their teachers, obey school rules and participate actively in lessons.
She urged the pupils to study hard and remain committed to their education, stressing that dedication to learning would help them achieve their aspirations and goals in life.
The Okaikwei North MP also appealed to teachers to exercise patience and understanding towards the new pupils, noting that some of the children might require time to adjust to their new school environment.
For his part, Hon. Christian Tetteh Badger prayed for the pupils and encouraged them to remain in school, develop their talents and make good use of the opportunities provided by education.
The Headmistress of Alogboshie Basic School, Madam Eunice Die Yidana, expressed appreciation to the delegation for choosing the school for the programme.
She said the visit would motivate the pupils and encourage them to take their studies more seriously.
As part of the programme, the delegation presented educational and refreshment items, including pencils, books, crayons, biscuits and fruit juices, to the new entrants.
Among the schools visited were Alogboshie 1 and 2 Basic Schools and Halid Bum Walid Islamic School.
